The sensual belly dance, or oriental dance, is the traditional dance of the Middle East. Its origin goes back centuries, probably even thousands of years. It is a sacred dance, a therapeutic technique and a fertility ritual originating in ages dominated by fertility goddesses.
Many of its movements resemble lovemaking and even childbirth. Belly dance was and is a way of worshipping femininity, which is why it was traditionally practiced by women for women.
