Swim and SUP in a mountain lake
July 4th, 2014
I was feeling really bored that day and felt like going somewhere. The idea of a trip up the mountain and a dip in a mountain lake presented itself to me among the many options and it seemed the most appropriate escape for that particular day. Off we went, sister, brother, girlfriend and child in the quite late afternoon. Thankfully it was summer and the day long enough for us to enjoy some sun on the lake before it hid behind the mountains. Not that that was a bad thing either. The lake water was quite warm and the experience of the lake after sunset mysterious and poetic!
We had taken the SUP with us, which allowed us to expore the lake all around (it’s not very big, around 200 hectares)
So: In the morning, swimming and SUP in the sea (Gulf of Corinth). In the afternoon, swimming and SUP in a mountain lake (Lake Tsivlos). That is what is truly unique about the Peloponnese: the sea and the mountain are so close (relatively speaking of course) that you can enjoy a little bit of both in the space of one day!
