Eating recommendations!

Eating is a big part of traveling, it goes without saying. But as we do not all search for the same type of accommodation when  we travel, so too we do not search for the same kind of dining-out experience.

My particular love is for places that are embedded in their place and community and which have stood the test of time. I like a good setting and I love superior art-de-table, but in fact, what my heart yearns for is the restaurant that’s real, even at times decadent, but comforting, cosy, weird, the one with a life of its own, with a story to tell. Taste is like a return to the womb I guess, so the restaurant must also somehow give this sense of a return to pleasures which are basic, visceral, spontaneous.

So I have compiled here a list of places where I eat and where I like to take my friends. This is not to say that I have compiled my own Michelin list. I keep discovering and adding places, and there might be places that should no longer be included.

I realise that I do not have adequate pictures for most, so for now I will not be including any, just the map, with brief descriptions when you click on the place pin. But I aim to add pictures and better reviews in the future!
