A new network of hoteliers (<strong>Trikala Corinthians Network<\/strong>) teamed up with our region&#8217;s alternative tourism network &#171;<strong>Experience Corinthia<\/strong>&#187; to create a new annual event. The <strong>Trikala Food Trails<\/strong> combined 3 things:\u00a0an outdoor activity (hiking along a newly opened ancient path linking the lower to the upper neighbourhood of Trikala); the demonstration of a traditional agricultural activity (the drying of grapes to make the famous raisins of Corinth); and a dinner consisting of recipes created using local products, some of them PDOs, such as Feneos &#171;vanilla&#187; beans.<\/p>\n<p>It was a nice opportunity to take to the mountains, as I like to do\u00a0in the summer, so we invited our Italian friends Enzo &amp; Gioia to join us and off we went. The temperature was refreshingly\u00a0cooler than on the coast, the company large and jovial, the path more interesting (and demanding!)\u00a0that what we had expected; baby Orfeas enjoyed the grape activity enormously; and we all appreciated the food and local wine (offered by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.domainegioulis.gr\" target=\"_blank\">Gioulis<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.enarhi.gr\/\u03c4\u03b1-\u03ba\u03c1\u03b1\u03c3\u03b9\u03ac-\u03bc\u03b1\u03c2\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\">Mantas<\/a> wine houses).<\/p>\n<p>Here are some pictures of the
